An idea became an organic oil mill.

Oil Mill Döllnitz GmbH is a subsidiary of Demeter-Felderzeugnisse GmbH. An international project idea became an independent industrial organic oil mill in Halle (Saale).

The journey of Oil Mill Döllnitz

Conversations with long-standing Ukrainian trading partners give rise to the idea of jointly trading larger quantities of organic sunflower oil.

Initial discussions take place at trade fairs. The desire grows to jointly build and operate an organic oil mill over the long term. The project is presented to the board of the German parent company.

After the project is approved, contract negotiations follow. The project company Trigon Organic is founded in Odessa.

The goal: a modern, purely organic oil mill in Ukraine processing up to 12,000 tonnes of raw material per year. First, the heart of the production plant is commissioned: modern screw presses from a renowned German manufacturer.

Russia’s war of aggression suddenly deprives the project of its roots, the site, and its nourishment, the raw material.

Despite the situation, the heart of the plant remains. After months of uncertainty, the decision is made to establish a new site in Germany.

The right site is found in Halle (Saale). Oil Mill Döllnitz GmbH is founded and established there for the long term.

The scope of the project is significantly expanded. From March 2023, the first employees are hired. With commitment and passion, an empty hall becomes an industrial oil mill. Initial certifications are successfully completed in December 2023.

In November 2024, production begins for cold-pressed organic sunflower oil and organic sunflower cake made from local sunflowers.

After the first production year, the oil mill draws a positive conclusion. The chosen path is to be continued, expanded and sustainably developed.

In May 2026, the oil mill decides to make its development more visible to the outside world.

Further development, new projects and insights into the work of the oil mill will be actively shared in the future.
